Adding addiontional menus
I have just bought chameleon and added a joomla template to different VM categories, and this seems to be working fine.
I would also like to add a specific menu to this as well. I have created a new menu called "Layer 1" (Menu ID:5), and I have also created a new mod_mainmenu called "layer 1" (Module ID:58) and for now placed it in "banner 1" position.
I have tried a couple of options and searched this forum but I can not find a away of adding this menu to these categories.
It is properly something simple I am missing, but any help gratefully received.
Thank you
Glenn
Re: Adding addiontional menus
Hi Glenn,
at this time, Chameleon does not act directly on modules or module positions. i.e. it can't hide/show them.
My other product MetaMod is all about dealing with this sort of thing though - try downloading the free version and trying it out.
You'll need to read and understand the Quick Start guide:
http://www.metamodpro.com/metamod/quick-start
Since you'll need to write a little PHP, you'll also find this "recipes" page useful:
http://www.metamodpro.com/metamod/recip … mart-pages
The recipe in there called "Display a certain module only on browse pages, with a different module for each category" is basically what you'll be wanting.
Hope that helps - please write back if you need more specific help.
Cheers,
Stephen
