MetaMod is all about modules - not about articles. It doesn't have ways of turning particular articles on and off, at least in terms of when you are showing an article as a main component.

However it may be able to help in various ways.

(1) look around the Joomla Extensions directory for a module that can display an entire article. That way, you could publish this into a module position that's able to use the full width of the page (or however much space you need), and this module could be controlled with MetaMod.

(2) instead of controlling whether or not a particular article displays on a particular page, you could try to control how people get to that page in the first place. e.g. use MetaMod to control the display of a link or menu from the front page of your site.

(3) you could use the "page redirection" feature in MetaMod. You would assign the MetaMod to only "display" on the page that the article is on, then use the time/date rules to decide if the user should be seeing that page. If it's the wrong date/time, then redirect them to another page.
