Re: How to use GeoIP.dat.gz and GeoLiteCity.dat.gz in MetaMod 2.3

Hi,

you need to make a new folder in the root of your Joomla installation. The root of your joomla installation is often something like /home/username/public_html

Inside that folder, Joomla has a bunch of folders like administrator, cache, components, images, includes, language, libraries, logs, media, modules, plugins, templates, tmp and xmlrpc.

Beside all those folders, you need to create a new folder called: geoip

Then put the file named GeoLiteCity.dat inside that folder. You will need to unzip GeoLiteCity.dat.gz first to get the file named GeoLiteCity.dat.

Hope that helps,
Stephen
