Having upgraded Joomla 2.5x to Joomla 3.48, after sorting out the"minor" problems I still had one problem which I couldn't solve - with SEF switched on, I could not use multiple templates on the site. That is, with a variety of templates assigned to various pages in Joomla's template manager, they all showed correctly on the relevant pages until SEF was switched on, when all pages showed the default template instead of that assigned. I worked for hours trying to sort the problem out, and then I decided to risk  $30 on purchasing Chameleon in the rather forlorn hope that it might help.

Well, having installed Chameleon, not only am I able to assign templates in Chameleon, but the Joomla template manager now works correctly. This has, I am sure, saved me very many more happy(!) hours of trying to find the problem within Joomla, and I recommend Chameleon to anyone who has similar problems.
