[solved] Difference between PRO version and Free Version

[solved] Difference between PRO version and Free Version

I set up metamod to display a particular module when displaying a K2 item from a given category but not when displaying the list of items for that given category, and all was fine. I get the module on the right hand side of the page for the item display

and it doesn't appear on the category listing page. Unfortunately, I get a blank space as the template allocates space for the metamod module.

This seeming to be the main benefit of going to the Pro version, I dutifully purchase the Pro version and install it. That solves the space problem on the listing page, but on the article page I now get something that looks like

The module has lost all its surrounding formatting. If I display the module using standard Joomla and not via metamod, everything is fine.

but then I don't get the control that metamod offers.

How do I get Metamod Pro to display the module so that it looks the same as it does when the module is not displayed via Metamod Pro?

Many thanks!
Jonathan

Re: [solved] Difference between PRO version and Free Version

Hi Jonathan,

Generally MetaMod Pro solves all those problems for you, so I guess there's a minor setup problem.

This is how I'd generally set up for your situation:

1 - MetaMod Pro installed
2 - the "target modules" are set up exactly the same as they would be without MetaMod except assigned to "none" menu items, so they don't show up until the MetaMod includes them
3 - the MetaMod is set up in the module position where the other modules are to be displayed
4 - in the MetaMod, set "Style for included modules" to "Inherited" and leave "Style override for included modules" blank.

My guess is that #4 may be set wrongly on your site.

Does that help?
Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Stephen!

Spot on! You're a star! I knew I must have missed something simple and setting the style for included modules to "Inherited" did the trick.

Many thanks for your help - and for a great extension.
