Excluding modules from forum pages

Excluding modules from forum pages

Hi

I'm using Joomla 1.5.26 and just installed Metamod 2.12.
I would like to exclude modules from my forum pages, as these pages need more space than the rest of my pages.

All the forum pages have a url that starts with www.mydomain.dk/forum - so I'm guessing I can use that as my rule. But how do I do it?

I hope you can help me with the specific recipe for this.

Re: Excluding modules from forum pages

Hello again.

I found the answer. If anyone else needs it, the magic code is:

if ( ! (
$option == 'com_kunena'
)) return metamodright;

My only problem now is that when I visit the forum, the metamod still takes up space, even though it doesn't show anything...
Any idea how to make sure it does not take up space?

Re: Excluding modules from forum pages

I just tried switching templates, and it seems to be a problem with my template.

So never mind...      wink

Re: Excluding modules from forum pages

Hi Gipa,

the MetaMod still takes up space although it's not including any other modules, because it's still a module assigned to that module position... there are various things you can do about it. The simplest is to "go Pro" which completely eliminates the empty module. However, you may be able to make the empty MetaMod take up less space (even without Pro) by adding a module class suffix to the MetaMod. That can sometimes fool the CSS into not reserving space/border/outline for it. But that depends on your template – which you have already found out!

Anyway, that's what is/was happening in your case.

Cheers,
Stephen
