In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
From the 2.6 release of MetaMod Pro on 4th July 2011, you no longer have to manually enable the MetaMod Pro plugin. The installation package now installs the MetaMod module and the "Pro" plugin, and automatically enables the plugin.
The order of System plugins, however is still sometimes important. Sometimes other plugins can interfere with "System - MetaMod Pro", so you have to change the order, or at least, put MetaMod before the other extensions!
To do this:
- On yoursite.com/administrator, go to the menu marked "Extensions -> Plugins"
- use the "Select Type" dropdown to choose "System"
- use the little "order" triangles to push the "System - MetaMod" plugin to the top of the list
- or, if it gets stuck somewhere before the top of the list and won't go any higher, type "-1" into the order box next to "System - MetaMod" and click on the little disk icon at the top of the column. This should re-order all the plugins, with MetaMod at the top.
Known Incompatibilities
There are some other plugins that are known to cause problems with MetaMod Pro:
- Certain versions of BreezingForms. These are fixable by editing one of the files in BreezingForms. See this post for a fix.
- A Content plugin called "module", used for inserting modules into different places on your site. A recommended alternative is ModulesAnywhere. Or you can replace the line in plugins/content/module_class.php that says this: require_once(dirname(__FILE__) . '/../../libraries/joomla/application/module/helper.php');
with this:
jimport('joomla.application.module.helper');
Hope that helps!

Re: In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
Hi,
I installed the Metamod pro in a joomla config running with multiple metamods within a yootheme template in the Top Panel, left, and Right mod positions. When I turn on the metamod plugin all my metamods dissapear. This happens both in Firefox and IE7. Turning off the plugin fixes the problem. Is there a quick fix or a change I need to do with the existing metamods to fix this?
Please let me know. Thanks!

Re: In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
I reported the metamod pro not working before. I managed to find the reason for it. Apparently, it does not like the Noiax plugins. When I disable them , then the mod works fine doing what is intended to do.
I have found a different bug which I hope you can help with. I have loaded multiple metamods in the Yootheme TopPanel module and they show up except that when I have the metamod pro plugin active, the mods in the top panel loose their styling. If I disable the metamod pro plug then I get the proper styling for the mods in the top panel.
any thoughts?
Thanks!

Re: In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
Hi mgracia,
using MetaMod Pro can change the styling of your modules. Specifically, it takes all the styling back to exactly what it would have been if the module was placed directly onto the page, with no MetaMod or MetaMod Pro installed. This is intended to be a desirable thing! (i.e., too many people were having difficulties because MetaMod changed the styling of their modules, so MetaMod Pro takes modules back to standard styling again).
The up side of this is that you can style your modules as if MetaMod was not involved. The down side is that you can no longer use the controls in MetaMod (e.g. the module class suffix, or the Style for Included Modules) to do it.
Normal styling of modules is done by:
- altering the "style" attribute for the module position inside the template (this is analogous to using the "style for included modules" inside MetaMod, but applies to all modules inside the module position)
- altering the "css class suffix" inside any module (when using MetaMod Pro, do it inside the target module rather than the MetaMod)
- changing your template's CSS styles to affect the module(s) you want to target.
Cheers,
Stephen
Re: In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
Oh, and regarding the Noiax plugin - did you try moving the MetaMod Pro plugin to be before the Noiax plugin in the list of system plugins? If you make the MetaMod Pro plugin load first, that generally fixes everything. (instructions in the first post of this topic).
Re: In case MetaMod Pro doesn't seem to be working...
Hi Raoulbia,
Ah, there's one more thing you need to do - install the standard "MetaMod" module *as well as* MetaMod Pro. Download it from the download page. http://www.metamodpro.com/get-started/download
That will work :-)
Cheers,
Stephen
