Re: "Style override for included modules" in Pro

Hi editartgroup,

In MetaMod Pro, the "style for included modules" has no effect. It only applies in MetaMod without the Pro version.

Note that the "style" mentioned here is not a CSS style/class. It's a Joomla-specific templating thing.

Inside a Joomla template, module positions are loaded like this (taken from the Beez5 example template):

<jdoc:include type="modules" name="position-7" style="beezDivision" headerLevel="3" />

The "style" here is something that's picked up in the html/modules.php file in the template, and is used to affect the module "chrome".

If the style is one of the preset ones, e.g. "rounded", "none", "xhtml", "horz", then these correspond to the ones in the drop-down box in MetaMod. Otherwise you have to add them in the freetext box.

Ok, so the point of these is that when you do not have MetaMod Pro, then MetaMod has to know how to include the "target" modules inside of itself. You can use the different options there to govern how the inner modules will display, remembering that the MetaMod module itself will be put into the HTML stream using the style that was specified for that module position in the template's index.html file -- and then the additional modules will again have a style applied depending on how you configure the options.

WIth MetaMod Pro however, the point about the target modules is that they should be included onto the page exactly as if MetaMod was not involved in the process. It removes any trace of MetaMod's HTML, even though MetaMod is deciding which modules to display. Therefore, the "style for included modules" and "style override for included modules" have NO effect in MetaMod Pro.

I'm sorry that this is not intuitive in the interface.

Best regards,
Stephen

Re: "Style override for included modules" in Pro

thank you very much for the explanation.

I had already read the code module.
And my conclusion was the same as your explanation.

Perhaps the option in the module metamod Pro, wrap or not modules loaded?

Yes, that's a good idea, will consider that for the next release. Thank you!
