By default, Joomla can only assign modules to any page that has a “Menu Item” linked to it. MetaMod completely removes this restriction, allowing you to place modules on any page, at any time, to whoever, from wherever you want!
- set module start and end dates, or recurring start and stop dates and times (great for radio/TV stations)
- show/hide modules on individual article pages, or any article in a particular section or category
- show/hide modules for individual users, guests, logged-in users, or any user group
- show/hide modules based on the user’s web browser (e.g. show one module for IE users, and another for any other browser)
- show/hide modules based on site language or the language of a user’s browser
- control modules on individual sub-pages of many Joomla components, such as VirtueMart, SOBI2, MyBlog, CommunityBuilder, JReviews and many others!
- GeoIP-based selection: select based on the user’s country, state or city, based on MaxMind GeoIP location

Why? MetaMod is a module-within-a-module solution. Empty MetaMods (where MetaMod decides not to include any other modules) can cause layout issues on the page, because some HTML is usually output even for “empty” modules.
MetaMod Pro prevents this from occurring by completely removing all traces of the MetaMod “wrapper” module from the HTML output. Empty Mods will no longer cause your template to reserve left/right column space for non-existent modules. Extra HTML can no longer affect the CSS of your page.
Perfect.
